Newcastle’s latest A-Grade commercial facility is set to welcome new tenants in 2022 with Australian Commercial Law firm Hicksons Lawyers set to call the Hunter Street development home for their Newcastle operations.
Specialising in commercial law, Hicksons Lawyers provide legal assistance at a government, organisational and individual level throughout Australia and Asia.
Hicksons Lawyers Partner in Charge – Newcastle Office, Najeh Marhaba, expressed his delight at the opportunity to move staff and clients into the Darby Plaza precinct, adding:
“We are very excited to be part of the new Darby Plaza precinct, a smart and sustainable workspace which will allow us to continue to collaborate with our local and regional clients every day. We look forward to welcoming our people and clients in mid-April”.
Featuring an integrated technology ecosystem and innovative end-of-trip facilities, Hicksons (as advised by Kernel Property) will relocate their Newcastle operations from their current Darby Street location to the new Hunter Street development later this year.
Speaking on the upcoming move, Hicksons Lawyers Chief Operating Officer Colleen Weiler said:
“Due to an increase in growth, Hicksons is delighted to be relocating to Darby Plaza, the newly built professional services hub in Newcastle. Consistent with the firm’s Vision, the new space maximises serviceability to our clients, fosters collaborative, innovative space for our people and contributes to our socially responsible commitments within our community”.
GWH Managing Director Jonathan Craig echoed both Mr Marhaba and Ms Weiler’s sentiment, adding:
“Darby Plaza will provide a state-of-the-art work and lifestyle destination right here in the heart of the Newcastle CBD. Featuring an integrated technology ecosystem and innovative end-of-trip facilities including secure showers and bike and surfboard storage options, Darby Plaza will provide a lifestyle destination that enriches the lives of both its occupants and the wider community”.
With the stunning external façade revealing itself last week following the removal of the buildings external scaffold, excitement continues to build.
With construction on track for a mid-2022 completion date, space in Newcastle’s premier commercial office building is quickly filling.
“We can’t wait to welcome both Hicksons Lawyers and our existing tenants to experience the innovative features Darby Plaza has to offer once construction concludes later this year”, added Mr Craig.
