We’ve had a very busy few months since our last update which has seen the team transition into the structural phase of the project.
As we approached the Christmas break, the GWH install team landed an impressive 90 precast panels, from Hunter Precast, to the ground floor. This has allowed the forming of the Level One transfer slab covering an expansive area of over 1,500m². This crucial element contains an impressive 56 tonnes of reinforcement, 12.5 tonnes of mesh, and 16 tonnes of steel tendons for the advanced post-tension system. At the same time, our preferred suppliers from Nelson Bay Electrical, Mullane Construction Plumbing and DAB Air and Electrical have been roughing in the required mechanical, plumbing and electrical services.
Hear from Project Manager Richard Stanton and GWH/RE Licensee in Charge Peter Kunov for an update on all the progress.
In the coming weeks our site team will pour the Level One slab, taking a whopping 560 cubic metres of concrete. This marks the largest pour the team will undertake for this project. From Level One it’s expected we’ll complete a structural level every three weeks; with an anticipated topping out the structure in early April. We can then turn our focus towards the internal fit-outs and completion later in the year.
