AERO is a 14-storey residential development that set a new benchmark for apartment living in Newcastle.
Located on Hunter Street, the project delivers 45 architecturally designed apartments above two street-level commercial tenancies, along with a shared rooftop terrace offering uninterrupted 360-degree views of the harbour, coastline and CBD.
The development comprises 12 one-bedroom, 29 two-bedroom and four three-bedroom apartments, each designed with a focus on liveability, outlook and long-term appeal. With only four apartments per floor from Level 4 upward and multiple interior finish options, AERO combines density with a heightened sense of space, choice and quality for residents.

Delivered by GWH, AERO demonstrates the strength of GWH’s integrated development and construction capability. The project progressed rapidly from presales to completion, with presales achieved within three months and construction commencing in November 2016 following demolition. Using GWH’s proven build methodology, the structure was delivered at a rate of one level every seven days, enabling efficient sequencing without compromising build quality. Construction was completed within 12 months, with the interim occupation certificate issued in November 2017. The project was recognised by the Master Builders Association with the Apartment Development of the Year 2018 award.
